Goodbye 24

2024 was interesting. One of the good things that came out of this past year was the release of my new book, Tattoo Theatre. I have one more year until I retire from the secular work world. I’ll finally be able to give my art, writing, and performance endeavors the appropriate attention. This is going to be an undeniable new beginning that is long overdue. With the self-proclaimed one-year plan, I have some time to get ready, but time flies.

An original play in the works!

Last Sunday my wife and I saw the play, Venus in Fur. It was great, it was juicy! The two actors, a man and a woman, were amazing. I could feel the old memories of acting in the theatre bubbling up. I was reinvigorated with the thoughts of all the characters I’ve played and the plays I was lucky to perform. Being in the theatre reminded me of my mentor, Bill Morton. So many shows under his direction shaped me as the actor I would become. I could write for days and still not cover what the theatre meant to me.

After watching these two fine actors, I felt inspired. I was gifted with thoughts of adapting my latest work, Tattoo Theatre for the stage. Why not? The book is already a farcical play set inside a fast-paced novel, so it should be an easy yet hopefully intoxicating undertaking. After completing Tattoo Theatre in novel and E-book form, I’m now ready to adapt it into an original play. After being away from the theatre for several years, I’m excited to get back into it. I’ll keep you posted.

Be yourself

So I’ve just put out a new book, Tattoo Theatre, and decided that after four books, each in two formats, it’s time to get the word out about my artistic success. Twenty-five years of leading and walk-on roles as an actor, writing books, and performing performance poetry and prose have transitioned me to an older and odd man. Reaching kindred spirits is easy in the theatre. It’s easy in a dark bar. To put myself out on the social media wave is uncharted territory. Yes, there have been many drunken Tik Tok videos but not much more. They say that to make friends and gain a solid platform, you have to be yourself. After so many years of method acting, who am I to reveal. I spent years becoming other people and the thought of being myself seems challenging. Stay tuned, I’ll give it a shot.

Tattoo Theater

I am having a good time developing this book. It’s my fourth and it feels great to be writing again. I’ll be working on its cover soon. More info on its release soon!
